چکیده

We report an indium tin oxide (ITO) free inverted organic solar cell with alternate aluminium doped zinc (AZO) front cathode layer based on the consideration of blocking harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, which is one prominent reasons for degradation cells. To further enhance power conversion efficiency AZO/ZnO/PTB7:PC71BM/MoO3/Ag cell, plasmonic gold nanoflowers were embedded inside active layer. The critical parameter thickness electron transport (ETL), hole (HTL) and war first optimized through simulations using general purpose photovoltaic device model (GPVDM) software. experimental fabrication desired geometry was then carried out thickness. (PCE) under UV exposure found remarkably constant AZO electrode as compared to conventional ITO This attributed property AZO. PCE boosted from 6.19% 7.01% use Au nanoparticles in AZO/ZnO/PTB7:PC71BM/MoO3/Ag. work provides a practical insight developing free, assisted enhanced stability.

Recent Development in ITO-free Flexible Polymer Solar Cells

Polymer solar cells have shown good prospect for development due to their advantages of low-cost, light-weight, solution processable fabrication, and mechanical flexibility. Their compatibility with the industrial roll-to-roll manufacturing process makes it superior to other kind of solar cells. Normally, indium tin oxide (ITO) is adopted as the transparent electrode in polymer solar cells, whi...

Effect of Plasmonic Au Nanoparticles on Inverted Organic Solar Cell Performance

We studied the competition between energy loss due to quenching and enhanced absorption arising from the near-field plasmonic effect of Au nanoparticles (NPs) on the performance of organic solar cells (OSCs), by fabricating inverted architecture OSCs with electron transport layers consisting of an Au NPs monolayer covered by a ZnO overlayer. The distance between Au NPs and a poly(3hexylthiophen...

Impacts of Nanoparticles and Nano Rod Arrays on Optical Generation Rate in Plasmonic-Based Solar Cells

In this article, the effect of plasmonics properties of metal nanorods and nanoparticles on solar cell performance were investigated and simulated. Due to the classic solar cell disadvantages, it seems that a plasmonic solar cell is one of these methods. In plasmonic solar cells, because of plasmonic effect, a high electric field builds around metal nanoparticles so that high conversion efficie...

Environmental and economic assessment of ITO-free electrodes for organic solar cells

The use of Indium–Tin Oxide (ITO) as a transparent conductor in organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices has been shown to present a bottleneck for the technology due to the use of the rare metal Indium and also the energy intensive manufacturing processes required and subsequent high economic cost. This study discusses some of the alternative materials, which are being considered for use as transpar...
